Preserve the Power: How to Keep Garlic Fresh for Weeks

1. Store at room temperature (best for whole garlic bulbs):
Keep garlic bulbs in a well-ventilated container like a mesh bag or basket.

Store in a cool, dry, dark place away from sunlight and moisture.

Do not refrigerate whole bulbs—they will sprout faster.

2. Refrigerate peeled or chopped garlic:
Place peeled cloves in an airtight glass container and refrigerate for up to 1 week.

Optionally, cover the cloves with olive oil to extend freshness.
Note: Always use clean utensils to prevent contamination.

3. Freeze for long-term storage:
Freeze whole peeled cloves, minced garlic, or garlic paste in freezer-safe bags or containers.

You can also freeze garlic in olive oil in ice cube trays.
