Prepare the onions and mozzarella: Cut the onions into ½ inch thick rings. Slice the mozzarella cheese into strips.
Set up your dredging station: Place the flour in one shallow bowl, whisk the eggs in another, and put the bread crumbs in a third.
Coat the onion rings: Dip each onion ring into the flour, coating it evenly. Then, dip it into the whisked eggs, followed by the bread crumbs, making sure the onion rings are well-coated with crumbs.
Prepare the mozzarella strips: Coat the mozzarella strips the same way—flour, egg, and bread crumbs.
Fry the onion rings and mozzarella strips: Heat oil in a deep frying pan or a fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the onion rings and mozzarella strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes for each batch.
Drain and serve: Remove the cooked onion rings and mozzarella strips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
