In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to warm.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
Gradually add the warm milk to the sugar mixture, whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
Return the mixture to the pan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens into a creamy custard.
Once the custard thickens, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. If you prefer an even creamier texture, fold in whipped cream.
Assemble the Pudding:
Pour half of the custard mixture over the first layer of biscuits.
Repeat the process with another layer of soaked biscuits and the remaining custard.
Smooth the top layer with a spatula for an even finish.
Chill and Serve:
Place the pudding in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 3-4 hours, or overnight for the best results.
Before serving, garnish the top with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or fresh berries for a decorative touch.
