Chocolate Apple Puree Dessert

Cook the Apples: Place the peeled and chopped apples in a large pot. Add just enough water to cover them, then bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the apples are soft and can be easily mashed.

Make the Puree: Once the apples are soft, drain any excess water and mash the apples with a fork or potato masher until smooth. For a smoother texture, you can use a blender or food processor.

Melt the Chocolate: In a separate heatproof bowl, place the chopped chocolate. Set the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until fully melted.

Combine: Add the melted chocolate to the apple puree and mix until fully combined, creating a smooth, chocolatey apple mixture.

Chill: Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours before serving. The dessert can also be enjoyed warm if preferred.
