The Secret of Domestic Workers to Removing Stains from Mattresses, Furniture, and Armchairs

Step 1: Vacuuming: First, vacuum your mattress thoroughly using the upholstery attachment to remove dust, dirt, and debris.

Step 2: Stain Treatment: Mix equal parts of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Lightly spray the stained areas on the mattress. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Baking Soda: After the vinegar solution has worked, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the sprayed area. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Baking soda helps to absorb moisture and neutralize odors.

Step 4: Vacuum Again: Once the baking soda has settled, vacuum the mattress again to remove any residue.

Step 5: Drying: Allow the mattress to air dry completely before putting the bedding back on.

For Furniture and Armchairs:

Step 1: Vacuuming: Just like with the mattress, start by vacuuming the furniture or armchair to get rid of any surface dirt.

Step 2: Dish Soap Solution: For fabric upholstery, mix a few drops of mild dish soap in a bowl of warm water. Dampen a clean rag with the soapy solution and gently blot the stained area. Do not rub too hard, as this could push the stain deeper into the fabric.

Step 3: Hydrogen Peroxide (for tougher stains): If the stain is stubborn, mix one part hydrogen peroxide with two parts water in a spray bottle. Spray the solution lightly on the stain and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 4: Blotting: Use a clean cloth to blot the area, soaking up the excess moisture. Continue blotting until the stain disappears.

Step 5: Drying: Allow the furniture to air dry, preferably in a well-ventilated area.
