Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it becomes crispy and releases its fat. Once done, remove the bacon from the pan and set it aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
Sauté the Onion and Garlic:
In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the sliced onion and cook until softened and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Cook the Cabbage:
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir it into the onion and garlic mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the cabbage, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes until it wilts and becomes tender, but still slightly crispy.
Add the Bacon:
Stir the crispy bacon back into the cabbage mixture. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat everything through and combine the flavors.
Serve:
Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve warm as a side dish and enjoy!
