Preheat your slow cooker on high.
In a large bowl, beat together the flour, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon flavoring until smooth and creamy.
Generously grease a deep, heatproof cereal bowl with butter.
Pour the golden syrup into the bottom of the bowl.
Spoon the batter over the syrup.
Cover the bowl tightly with foil.
Place the bowl in the slow cooker and carefully pour boiling water around it, halfway up the sides of the bowl.
Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on high for 2.5 to 3 hours.
Remove carefully, invert onto a plate, and serve warm.
