Fried Chocolate Donuts

Melt the chocolate: In a bowl over simmering water (or in the microwave), gently melt the chopped chocolate. Let it cool slightly.

Prepare the batter: In another bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and sugar. Gradually mix in the flour until you get a thick batter.

Shape the donuts: Once the chocolate has slightly set but is still moldable, shape it into small balls or donut shapes.

Coat: Dip each chocolate shape in the batter, then roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Fry: Heat oil in a pan (about 170–180°C / 340–355°F). Fry the coated chocolate pieces until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Serve: Best enjoyed warm for a gooey center. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with extra chocolate if desired.
