How to Make Aloe Vera Soap at Home: Natural Skin Care with Powerful Benefits

Wear gloves and goggles. Make sure you’re working in a well-ventilated area. Lye is caustic and should be handled with caution.

Mix the Lye Solution:
Slowly pour the lye into the distilled water (never the reverse) while stirring. Let it cool.

Combine Aloe & Oil:
In a separate container, blend the aloe vera gel and your oil of choice. You can use a hand blender.

Bring It Together:
Slowly pour the cooled lye solution into the aloe-oil mix while stirring continuously. Blend until the mixture thickens (called “trace”).

Add Essential Oils (Optional):
Once thick, mix in a few drops of your favorite essential oils for fragrance and skin benefits.

Mold and Cure:
Pour into silicone molds and cover with a towel. Let it sit for 24–48 hours.
Unmold and allow the bars to cure in a dry place for 4–6 weeks before use.
