Crisp & Tangy Pickled Cucumber Salad

In a large bowl, combine sliced cucumbers and onions.

In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.

Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar fully dissolves.

Pour the hot mixture over the cucumber and onion slices. Stir well.

Let cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Garnish with fresh dill before serving if desired.
