Slice an onion and place the pieces near areas where rodents are active—behind appliances, near baseboards, or in corners.
Replace slices daily, as onions rot quickly and lose potency.
2. Flies and Mosquitoes
Blend one onion with water to create an onion juice spray.
Pour into a spray bottle and spray around doorways, windows, and outdoor seating areas.
Flies and mosquitoes dislike the smell and will avoid these areas.
3. Cockroaches
Place chopped onions mixed with baking soda in small bowls near cockroach hideouts (under sinks, behind cabinets).
The scent repels them and baking soda may help kill them if ingested.
4. Lice
Apply fresh onion juice directly to the scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing.
Repeat twice a week. Onion sulfur compounds can help repel lice naturally.
5. Bugs and Insects
Dab onion juice onto cotton balls and leave them in areas where insects are common (windowsills, pantry corners).
You can also leave onion slices near entry points.
6. Lizards
Place onion slices near entrances or in corners where lizards are spotted.
The strong odor is unpleasant for them, causing them to flee.
