Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. Add a pinch of salt.
Stir in the grated cheese and margarine.
Gradually add flour and baking powder. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
Using two spoons or your hands, shape small balls or drops and place them on the tray.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
Let cool slightly before serving.
