Quick & Flaky Katmer – Traditional Turkish Flatbread with a Buttery Twist

In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add warm water while kneading until a smooth, soft dough forms (about 8–10 minutes).

Cover the dough and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.

Divide the dough into 4 equal balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle or oval using a rolling pin.

Brush the surface of the rolled dough generously with melted butter.

Optional: Add cheese filling to one half of the dough.

Fold the dough over like a book (or roll it up) and gently flatten.

Cook in a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat, flipping occasionally, until golden and crispy on both sides (about 3–5 minutes per side).

Serve warm, optionally with yogurt or tea.
