In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

Add vegetable oil and hot water gradually, mixing with a spoon or spatula until a dough forms.

Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 30–45 minutes.

Divide the dough into 6–8 equal balls. Roll each into a round, flat disc (approx. 15 cm diameter).

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat (or preheat oven to 230°C if baking).

Cook each pita for about 1–2 minutes per side until it puffs up and gets golden spots. If baking, place on a hot baking tray for 5–6 minutes.

Wrap warm pitas in a clean towel to keep them soft.
