Vacuum thoroughly, especially seams, corners, and under furniture. Dispose of the vacuum bag outside immediately.

Diatomaceous earth: Sprinkle around mattress edges, bed frame, and cracks. Leave for 2–3 days, then vacuum.

Launder all bedding, curtains, and clothes in hot water and dry on high heat.

Seal any crevices in walls or baseboards.

2. Cockroaches
Baking soda + sugar trap: Mix equal parts and place in shallow lids near cockroach activity. The sugar lures them, and the baking soda kills them.

Bay leaves or peppermint oil: Roaches dislike strong smells—place near common hiding spots.

Seal entry points with caulk around pipes, doors, and windows.

3. Fruit Flies
Vinegar trap: Fill a bowl with apple cider vinegar, cover with plastic wrap, and poke small holes. Flies enter and can’t escape.

Clean drains with boiling water and vinegar to remove eggs or breeding grounds.

Remove ripe fruit or food scraps promptly.

4. General Insect Control
Essential oil spray: Mix 10–15 drops of peppermint or tea tree oil with water in a spray bottle. Spray window sills, doorways, and corners.

Keep food sealed and surfaces clean.

Set sticky traps in corners or under furniture to monitor and reduce pests.
