Add the brown sugar, heavy cream, corn syrup, and salt to the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
Microwave the Mixture:
Microwave the mixture on high for 6 minutes total. Pause every 2 minutes to stir thoroughly, ensuring even cooking.
Finish and Flavor:
After microwaving, stir in the vanilla extract. Be careful — the caramel will be very hot!
Pour and Set:
Quickly pour the caramel into the prepared baking dish. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top.
Cool and Cut:
