How to Make Bananas Last for 2 Years: No More Waste or Rotten Fruit!

Choose bananas that are yellow but still firm. Avoid overripe or bruised bananas for best results.

Slice the Bananas

Peel and slice the bananas into 1–2 cm (about ½–¾ inch) thick rounds.

(Optional) Dip in Lemon Juice

To prevent browning, lightly brush or toss the slices with lemon juice.

Pre-Freeze the Slices

Arrange the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Place the sheet in the freezer for 1–2 hours, until the slices are frozen solid.

Pack for Long-Term Storage

Transfer the frozen banana slices into freezer bags or airtight containers.

Remove as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. If you have a vacuum sealer, use it for best results.

Label and Freeze

Label your bags with the date.

Store the bananas in the freezer — they will last up to 2 years when properly sealed!
