Pick a plump, firm ginger root with visible "eyes" (small growth buds).
Cut into pieces (each with at least one eye) if the root is large.
Prepare for Planting:
Soak the ginger pieces in warm water overnight to stimulate growth.
Plant the Ginger:
Fill your pot with potting soil.
Place each piece of ginger with the buds facing upward, just below the soil surface.
Lightly cover with soil (1–2 cm).
Create the Right Conditions:
Water lightly and keep the soil moist, not soggy.
Place the pot in a warm, indirect sunlight spot — avoid strong direct sun at first.
Care and Growth:
Keep watering when the topsoil feels dry.
Ginger grows slowly; expect shoots to appear in a few weeks.
Harvest Time:
After 3–4 months, you can begin harvesting small pieces by carefully digging at the edges.
Let the plant continue growing for a larger, fuller harvest after 8–10 months.
