Fluffy Southern-Style KFC Biscuits You Can Make at Home!

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

Gradually add the cold buttermilk, stirring just until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat it into a ¾-inch thick rectangle.

Fold the dough in half, then gently pat it down again. Repeat this folding process 3–4 times to create layers.

Cut out biscuits using a round cutter (do not twist the cutter!) and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the tops with a little extra buttermilk for a golden finish.

Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite gravy!
