In a small bowl or container, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Stir well until the baking soda dissolves completely.

Add Essential Oils (Optional):

To enhance the mosquito-repelling properties, you can add a few drops of essential oils known for their insect-repelling qualities. Citronella is the most common for this purpose, but lavender, eucalyptus, and peppermint oils are also effective. You can mix and match according to your preferences.

Application:

Pour the baking soda and water mixture into a spray bottle (a clean, empty spray bottle works best). If you’ve added essential oils, give the bottle a shake to distribute the oils evenly.

Simply spray the solution around areas where mosquitoes tend to gather, such as windows, doors, and areas around your outdoor seating. You can also use this spray as a direct body mist (just avoid sensitive areas like the eyes).

Repeat Application:

For continuous protection, reapply the solution as needed, especially if you notice mosquitoes returning. The baking soda will neutralize the acidic compounds that attract mosquitoes, while the essential oils will act as a natural repellent.
