Melted Cheddar Cheeseburger

Preheat a stove or grill over medium-high heat. Season the beef patty with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cook the patty for 3-4 minutes per side for a medium doneness, or longer if you prefer it cooked more well-done.

In the final minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese on top of the patty and cover the skillet or grill to help the cheese melt.

2. Toast the Bun:
While the patty is cooking, cut the brioche bun in half.

Lightly toast the bun halves on a skillet or in the oven until golden and just tender.

3. Assemble the Burger:
Spread mayonnaise or burger sauce on the bottom bun and ketchup on the top bun.

Place the cooked patty with melted cheddar cheese on the bottom bun.

Sprinkle finely chopped onions on top of the melted cheese, then place the top bun on the assembled burger.
