Homemade Stain Remover Mixture for Dirty Rags

Preparation: In a large pot, add 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of baking soda. These ingredients will react to create a bubbling solution that will help lift stains from fabric.

Add Dishwashing Detergent: Add a few squirts of dishwashing detergent into the pot. This will assist in breaking down grease and oils that can get trapped in the fibers of your rags.

Boil the Mixture: Fill the pot with water, enough to fully cover your dirty rags, and bring it to a boil. As it heats, the vinegar, baking soda, and dish soap will combine to create a powerful, natural cleaning solution.

Soak the Rags: Once the water reaches a boil, add your dirty rags to the pot. Let them soak in the mixture for about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how dirty the rags are. Stir occasionally to ensure they’re evenly submerged in the cleaning solution.

Rinse and Dry: After soaking, remove the rags from the pot and rinse them thoroughly with warm water. You should see that most of the stains have disappeared. If needed, give them a final wash in your washing machine to fully clean them. Hang or dry the rags as usual.
