Crack the Eggs: Crack each egg into a separate compartment of the ice cube tray. You can crack them one by one or crack several into a bowl first and then pour them into the tray.
Whisk (Optional): If you plan on using your eggs for scrambled eggs, it’s helpful to whisk them gently before freezing. If you prefer to keep yolks and whites separate, you can freeze them in separate compartments.
Freeze: Place the tray in the freezer for about 2-4 hours or until the eggs are completely frozen. Once frozen, you can pop the eggs out of the tray and transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container for easier storage.
Label & Store: Write the date on the bag and store the egg cubes in your freezer. Labeling is key, as you’ll want to know how long they’ve been frozen.
How to Use Frozen Eggs:
Defrosting: When you need a frozen egg, simply remove one or more egg cubes and place them in the fridge overnight to thaw. You can also quickly thaw them by placing them in a bowl of warm water for about 5-10 minutes.
Cooking: Once thawed, use the eggs in any recipe that calls for beaten eggs, scrambled eggs, baking recipes, and more.
