Classic Moist Chocolate Cake

Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add wet ingredients: Beat in the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and well combined.

Stir in boiling water: Slowly mix in the boiling water (the batter will be thin, but thatโ€™s what makes it moist!).

Pour and bake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool: Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
