In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of sugar. Set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and sugar. Stir well and set aside.

Step 3: Sauté the Onions
Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until they are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.

Step 4: Cook the Beef
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to the pan. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes. Then, stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5: Combine and Finish
