Begin by boiling a cup of water in a small pot or kettle.
Add Turmeric and Optional Ingredients:
Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add the ground turmeric (or freshly grated turmeric), black pepper, and ginger (if using). Stir the mixture well to combine.
Simmer the Tea:
Lower the heat and let the turmeric tea simmer for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the ingredients to infuse and release their beneficial properties.
Add Lemon and Honey:
After simmering, remove the pot from the heat. Add a teaspoon of honey and a squeeze of lemon juice (if desired). Stir until the honey dissolves completely.
Strain and Serve:
If you used fresh ginger, you may want to strain the tea to remove the solid pieces. Pour the tea into a mug and enjoy while it’s warm.
