In a small bowl, combine lukewarm water, dry yeast, and sugar. Stir to dissolve, then let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add in the yeast mixture and vegetable oil. Stir the ingredients until a dough starts to form.
Add Cheese and Poppy Seeds:
Incorporate the grated cheese and poppy seeds into the dough. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough feels sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
Let the Dough Rest:

Shape the Crackers/Cookies:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Once the dough has rested, roll it out on a lightly floured surface until it's about 1/4 inch thick. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut the dough into small square or round shapes.
Bake:
Place the dough pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
Cool and Serve:
