Prepare the Ingredients:
Peel and finely chop the onion.
Slice the lemon into thin wedges.
Peel and crush the garlic cloves.
Grate the ginger or cut it into thin slices.
Combine the Ingredients:
In a small jar or bowl, combine the chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and lemon slices.
Pour in the honey and mix everything together thoroughly. Honey will act as a natural preservative and help to sweeten the mixture.
Let it Sit:
Cover the jar and let the mixture sit for 6-8 hours (or overnight) at room temperature. This allows the natural juices to be released and combine with the honey, creating a syrup-like consistency.
Strain the Mixture:
After the resting period, strain the liquid into a separate container to remove the solid ingredients, leaving behind the potent syrup.
How to Use:
Take 1 tablespoon of the syrup up to 3 times a day for relief. It can be taken as-is or diluted in warm water if you prefer a milder taste.
For children or individuals who may not enjoy the strong flavor, you can reduce the amount of garlic and ginger and adjust the honey to suit their tastes.
