How to Grow Peanuts at Home Using Old Tires – A Sustainable and Cost-Effective Method

Place the first tire directly on the ground in a sunny spot.

Fill it with well-draining soil mixed with compost and sand (peanuts love loose, sandy soil).

If desired, stack 1–2 more tires and fill them as well for deeper planting.

3. Planting the Peanuts
Use raw, untreated peanut seeds (found in garden stores or health markets).

Plant 1–2 inches deep, spacing seeds about 6–8 inches apart.

Water gently but thoroughly.

4. Caring for Your Peanut Plants
Water regularly, especially during flowering and pegging (when peanuts begin to grow underground).

Keep the area weed-free and mulch lightly to retain moisture.

Add more soil if using stacked tires as plants grow and need more space for pods to develop underground.
