Fluffy Golden Fried Dough Balls

In a small bowl, dissolve the brewer’s yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for a few minutes until frothy.

Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, combine the milk mixture with sugar, melted butter, salt, vanilla, the egg, and flour. Mix until a soft, smooth, and homogeneous dough forms.

Let it Rise:
Cover the dough with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size—about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Shape the Balls:
Once risen, gently deflate the dough and divide it into small, equal portions. Roll each portion into a smooth ball.

Second Rise:
Place the balls on a floured surface or parchment paper and let them rest for about 30 minutes.

Fry the Balls:
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the dough balls in batches until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels.

Serve:
Enjoy plain, or roll in sugar, drizzle with honey, or fill with jam, custard, or chocolate.
