Flaky Puff Pastry Snacks with Sausage and Cheese

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Sausage Filling:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the crumbled sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to break it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the sausage. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the onion is soft.

Season with salt, pepper, and oregano (if using). Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Assemble the Pastries:

Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into rectangles or squares, depending on your preference for snack size.

Place a small spoonful of the sausage mixture in the center of each pastry square.

Top with shredded cheese.

Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling, creating a pocket or a triangle shape. Press the edges to seal the pastry. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
