Mix ½ cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water to form a thick paste.
Apply the paste to the oven’s interior, avoiding heating elements, vents, and electrical components.
For tough stains, you can add a small amount of dish soap to the mix for extra cleaning power.
4. Let the Paste Sit:
Let the paste sit in the oven for 12 hours (or overnight). This gives the baking soda time to break down grease, grime, and burnt-on food.
5. Clean the Oven Racks:
Soak the oven racks in a bathtub or sink filled with warm water and a few tablespoons of dish soap. After about 30 minutes, scrub them with a sponge or brush.
Rinse and dry the racks before placing them back in the oven.
6. Scrape and Wipe Away the Paste:
After the paste has sat for several hours, use a plastic spatula or scraper to gently lift the paste off the oven walls. Be careful not to scratch the surface.
Wipe down the oven’s interior with a damp cloth to remove any remaining baking soda residue.
7. Spray with Vinegar:
Spray white vinegar onto any leftover baking soda residue. The vinegar will react with the baking soda, causing it to fizz and loosen any remaining grime.
Wipe down the oven with a clean, damp cloth to remove all the vinegar and baking soda mixture.
8. Dry and Reassemble:
