Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until creamy and smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
