Savory Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Swirls: A Golden Crowd-Pleaser

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth and flatten slightly.

Layer It Up:
Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the pastry, if using.
Evenly layer the ham slices over the surface, then sprinkle the cheese on top.

Roll and Slice:
Carefully roll the pastry up tightly from one end to form a log.
Use a sharp knife to slice into ½-inch (1.5 cm) thick pinwheels.

Bake:
Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
Brush each with the beaten egg and sprinkle with herbs or sesame seeds if desired.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

Cool & Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm!
