Bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt, then cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside, reserving a bit of pasta water.
Prepare the Meat Sauce:
In a large pan, melt 60 g of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add the mixed ground beef and pork to the pan. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
Season the Sauce:
Stir in the oregano, basil, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the meat with the spices.
Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture and stir to combine. Let it cook for a minute to form a slight roux.
Add the Liquids:
Pour in the tomato sauce, and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens a bit.
Lower the heat and add the heavy cream, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a small amount of reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Finish with Cheese:
Stir in the grated cheddar cheese and let it melt into the sauce, making it extra creamy and cheesy.
Serve:
Once everything is well combined and heated through, serve the creamy meat pasta hot. Optionally, sprinkle a little more grated cheese on top and enjoy!
This dish is a perfect balance of creamy, savory, and flavorful. It's easy to make, quick, and sure to impress with its comforting richness! Enjoy!
