Holiday Layered Potato Bake with Mozzarella and Savory Meat Filling

Preheat Oven and Prepare Ingredients:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes. Grate the mozzarella cheese and set aside.

Cook the Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, heat a bit of olive oil and sauté the onion until translucent. Add the garlic and cook for a minute until fragrant.
Add the minced meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Add the chopped bell peppers, salt, and pepper. Cook until peppers are softened and the mixture is well combined.

Assemble the Casserole:
In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom. Top with half of the cooked meat mixture, then sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese.
Repeat with the remaining potatoes, the rest of the meat, and finish with another generous layer of mozzarella on top.
