Boil the Water: Begin by bringing the 2 cups of water to a boil in a small pot.
Add Bay Leaves: Once the water is boiling, add the 3 dried bay leaves. Let them simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the essential oils and active compounds to be released into the water.
Cool the Liquid: After 10 minutes, remove the pot from the heat and allow the liquid to cool slightly, just enough to drink comfortably.
Strain and Add Lemon Juice: Strain the tea to remove the bay leaves, then add the fresh juice of one lemon. Stir well.
Optional Honey: For additional soothing effects, stir in a teaspoon of honey to the tea. Honey has natural antibacterial properties and helps soothe the throat.
