In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and icing sugar together until the mixture is light, fluffy, and a pale golden color. This step is crucial for creating a tender texture in the biscuits.

Add Wet Ingredients:
Add the egg and vegetable oil to the bowl, and continue mixing at high speed until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.

Incorporate Flour:
Gradually incorporate the flour, adding one cup at a time. Mix thoroughly after each addition. The dough is ready when it forms a soft texture and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

Shape the Biscuits:
Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to your desired thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to shape the cookies into your preferred forms.

Bake:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cool and Serve:
Once baked, allow the biscuits to cool on a wire rack before enjoying their buttery, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
