Baked Oatmeal with Apple and Banana

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish (about 8x8 inches) with a bit of butter or cooking spray.

Prepare the Oatmeal Base:
In a large bowl, combine ground oats, whole oats, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.

Add Wet Ingredients:
Add milk, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and the egg (if using). Stir everything together until the mixture is well combined.

Layer the Fruit:
Gently fold in the chopped apple and sliced banana into the oatmeal mixture. Then, pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the oatmeal is set. You can check by inserting a knife—if it comes out clean, it's ready!

Serve:
Allow the baked oatmeal to cool slightly before serving. You can top with extra fruit, nuts, or a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
