Peel the 3 apples and grate them into a medium-sized bowl. Mix the grated apples with 50g sugar and 5g cinnamon until well combined. This will form your filling.
Roll the Puff Pastry:
On a clean, flat surface, roll out the 500g puff pastry into a large rectangular shape. Make sure the pastry is evenly thick so it bakes uniformly.
Assemble the Rolls:
Spread the apple mixture evenly over the surface of the rolled-out puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges. Carefully roll the pastry from one edge to form a tight log.
Slice the Rolls:
Using a sharp knife, cut the rolled pastry into slices about 2 cm thick.
Prepare for Baking:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the apple rolls on the sheet, leaving space between them to allow for rising.
Brush with Egg Wash:
In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush the tops of each roll with the egg wash to give them a beautiful golden finish.
Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed.
Cool and Serve:
Once baked, remove the sheet from the oven and let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these warm, cinnamon-scented treats!
