In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
Stir the ingredients together to form a marinade. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice if desired.
Step 2: Marinate the Wings
Add the chicken wings to the marinade, tossing them to ensure each wing is coated evenly.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, to allow the flavors to infuse the wings.
Step 3: Grill the Wings
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F or 190°C to 200°C).
Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent the wings from sticking.
Place the marinated wings on the grill and cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping them every 5-7 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispy skin.
Grill the wings until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The wings should have a nice char but remain juicy inside.
Step 4: Serve
Remove the wings from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra lemon wedges for added zest.
Serve the wings hot and enjoy!
