Steam the broccoli florets until they are tender (about 4-5 minutes). Drain well and finely chop the steamed broccoli. If there's excess moisture, you can press it gently between paper towels to ensure the mixture doesn’t become too soggy.
Combine the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined, and the mixture holds together when pressed.
Form the Balls:
Take a small amount of the mixture and roll it into 1-1.5 inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure there is a little space between each one.
Bake the Balls:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly brush the tops of the broccoli cheese balls with olive oil to help them get golden and crispy. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp on the outside.
Serve and Enjoy:
Once baked, let the broccoli cheese balls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them on their own or with a dipping sauce like ranch, marinara, or your favorite dressing.
