In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine yogurt, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour.
Step 2: Shape the Donuts
Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness.
Use a donut cutter or two round cutters (one large, one small) to cut out donut shapes. Re-roll scraps as needed.
Step 3: Cook the Donuts
For Frying: Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
For Baking: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray lightly with cooking spray and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until puffed and lightly golden.
Step 4: Add Toppings
Let the donuts cool slightly before adding your desired toppings.
Dust with powdered sugar, dip in cinnamon sugar, drizzle with chocolate glaze, or add sprinkles for extra fun.
