Beef Lo Mein: A Flavorful, Quick, and Easy Stir-Fry Dish

Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside. If using spaghetti, cook the pasta al dente.
Toss the noodles with a little sesame oil to prevent them from sticking together.
Cook the Beef:

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced beef to the pan in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
Stir-Fry the Vegetables:

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the onions, bell pepper, and carrots, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until they start to soften.
Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
Make the Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, rice vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and water.
Pour the sauce into the skillet with the vegetables, and bring to a simmer. Stir well to combine.
Combine Everything:

Add the cooked beef back into the skillet with the sauce and vegetables. Stir everything together to coat the beef and vegetables in the sauce.
Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing gently to combine everything. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through and well coated in the sauce.
Serve:

Remove from heat and transfer the Beef Lo Mein to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
