Hamburger Steaks with Onion Gravy

Prepare the Hamburger Steaks:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
Form the mixture into 4-5 oval-shaped patties.
Cook the Steaks:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the patties to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Onion Gravy:
In the same skillet, add the butter and sliced onions. Cook over medium heat until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Continue cooking until the gravy thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve:
Return the hamburger steaks to the skillet, spooning some of the gravy and onions over the top.
Let them simmer in the gravy for 2-3 minutes to soak up the flavors.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
