Classic Homemade Chili with a Savory Twist

In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, celery, jalapeño, and garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, pinto beans, and water.
Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Adjust seasoning to taste, and let the chili simmer uncovered for an additional 15 minutes for a thicker consistency.
