Hawaiian Shoyu Chicken

In a large pot, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, green onions, ginger, garlic, mirin, and sake.
Bring the mixture to a boil.
Add the chicken thighs to the pot.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Serve hot over rice and garnish with additional green onions if desired.
