Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning the dough to coat it with oil.

Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Dough for Baking:
Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 2 equal pieces for two 12-inch pizzas or keep it whole for one large pizza.

Shape each piece into a ball. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.

Roll Out the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a 12-inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick.

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
