If you’re using fresh corn silk, start by washing it thoroughly to remove any dirt or pesticides. If you’re using dried corn silk, make sure it’s clean and ready to use.
2. Boil the Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
3. Add the Corn Silk
Once the water is boiling, add the handful of corn silk to the pot. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the beneficial compounds in the corn silk to infuse into the water.
4. Strain the Tea
After simmering, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the liquid into a cup or teapot, discarding the corn silk.
5. Add Honey and Lemon (Optional)
If desired, add a teaspoon of honey to sweeten the tea and a squeeze of lemon juice for extra flavor and a boost of vitamin C. Stir well.
6. Drink and Enjoy
Sip the warm corn silk tea slowly. For best results, drink this tea once or twice a day.
