Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (16 oz) spaghetti noodles
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, fry the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Crumble the bacon and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the minced onion. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the onion and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
  5. Return the cooked spaghetti noodles to the skillet with the onion and garlic mixture. Add the shredded Parmesan cheese and beaten eggs to the skillet. Mix everything together until the cheese and eggs coat the noodles evenly and form a creamy sauce.
  6. Keep mixing the sauce into the noodles over low heat until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Season the pasta carbonara with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top of the pasta carbonara and mix everything together.
  9. Serve the pasta carbonara hot and enjoy!
